The Lone Star Quilt Study Group is an organization of textile and quilt lovers dedicated to furthering the study and research aims of the American Quilt Study Group by engaging interested individuals in group studies of quilt history of local, state, regional, national, and international relevance.
Our group reaches out to local and regional quilt study groups, guilds, quilt shop owners, museums, and other groups across Texas to promote and organize study days focused on varying themes. Individuals from outside the region are welcome to attend. Formal membership in LSQSG is not required. We try to keep our organization simple, although we do have Team Members who serve as a planning committee. These volunteers are also members of AQSG.
We organize one to two study days per year. All quilt history enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. Our presentations adhere to strict scholarly standards, and proper research sources are provided with each presentation. A show and tell session focused on the topic of the day is a regular part of the activities. Local meeting planners lead meetings, make announcements, and introduce presenters.
Let us know if you are interested in proposing an LSQSG study day. We would be happy to put you on our email list if you would like to be informed about future study day plans. Please feel free to contact us by post or email.
